Swim Fit Master Training Programme

Newsletter for September 2013

Attention all Master Swimmers, Triathletes, and Fitness enthusiasts - starting July 22nd 2013 and seasonally September through August thereafter, Swim Fit swimming classes will be run at Sandys 360 and the new N.S.C. Pool.

It is my intention to make this the best season ever for Master and Triathlon swim training and help all of you to climb up the ranks to the upper echelons of your chosen competitions.

For those of you looking for just an honest workout, some coaching advice, a bit of camaraderie and fun then this is for you too.

Do not be intimidated by what you might see or hear with what some of our top Master and Triathlon swimmers are doing in the "fast lanes". There is room for all and each newcomer is assigned a lane that is appropriate for his or her ability and fitness level.

Master Swimmers... this year, special significance will be given to the year long 3 part training cycle for you to try and qualify for the World Master Championships in Montreal next year. Even if you are not interested in attending, it is important to have personal goals and a plan to achieve them. Therefore this can be used as a great way to improve your swimming and have a lot of fun along the way.

FINA World Masters Championships - Montreal 2014 July 27 - August 10
Time Standards: www.fina.org

Triathletes... want to swim 11:30 or better for 750M or 15:00 or better for 1000M or 22:30 or better for 1500M? ...not impossible - just a process - sign up and learn how. Start by September and commit to the training in these classes and enjoy the results next year.

Holidays and other time changes will be posted by email and on our new web site. These interruptions happen infrequently.

Coming in September...

There will be a new web site for participants and when you sign up you will be assigned an account so we can track your development in swimming, post results, compare times with each other and your own race time progressions and benchmark swims.

There will also be a monthly lecture covering many different topics in such things as Stroke Development, Energy Systems, Race Preparation, Training Cycles, Dry Land sport specific training etc. All are related to the sport of swimming, but the science behind most of these lectures are transferable to any sport.

**Please let me know if you would like a spot reserved for September for any of these classes, as I will need to manage pool rental time and lane placements carefully.

We look forward to working with you all and please feel free to contact me with any questions!

Sincerely,

Victor Ruberry
